Telecity announces 7% capacity increase, whilst Iomart grows hosting revenues 25% through Titan buy
Trading continues to be strong for data centre provider Telecity, and the company has also announced the much-needed expansion of data centre capacity in London Docklands and Manchester by a combined 6.5MW, or 7% of Telecity’s previously announced capacity. Iomart expands hosting business by a quarter through Titan acquisition
UK-focussed hosting provider Iomart has acquired Titan Internet for up to £3.7m net in cash, which will increase its hosting base by just under a quarter. Tikit builds IP portfolio with brace of software acquisitions
Supplier of software and IT services to the legal sector Tikit has made two small but clever looking acquisitions this morning which will add significantly to its growing software portfolio. Tikit is acquiring Carpe Diem from Sage for $1.35m and PensEra Knowledge Technologies for an initial $0.7m. Both companies provide time and expense management software for legal firms and together generated revenues of $3.2m. Newswire Plus has more.
Security software vendors post strong Q3; outlook tempered by stronger US$
Better than expected results from security software providers McAfee, Symantec, Websense and Check Point over the last week or so show continued strong demand in this part of the market although the outlook statements were still somewhat cautious, mainly over the concerns of the strength of the US$ against the Euro. Evidence of strong underlying trading comes as consolidation within the security software sector is gathering momentum.
