EMIS looks forward to EMIS Web roll out after solid H1 and PicoChip reports strong year
Supplier of software to GPs and healthcare organisations EMIS has issued its maiden interim results this morning which show flat revenues but higher profits. Revenues for the six months to June were £29.0m up a fraction from £28.9m in H1 2009 but, with an improvement in revenue mix, adjusted operating profits increased from £6.7m to £7.9m. We managed a brief chat with CEO Sean Riddell and CFO Philip Woodrow this morning who were in confident mood; Premium subscribers can read our full review of the results in Newswire Plus.
PicoChip reports strong 09 revenue growth and reduced losses
Femtocell chip provider PicoChip’s newly-available accounts for the year to December 2009 show strong revenue growth and reduced, though still sizeable, operating losses. As we noted recently (Premium Plus readers see here), the company has managed to reduce the component costs of its femtocell solution below $50, which should help drive network operator demand. We spoke to CEO Nigel Toon, who was understandably upbeat about PicoChip’s prospects. Norcon reports revenue weakness, but outlook remains positive
Telecoms consultant and systems integrator Norcon has announced first half revenues down 8% at $34.2m, reflecting slightly longer sales cycles and a strong comparative last year. However, the company remains upbeat about prospects, given a strong order book, and looming industry spend on LTE 4G upgrades. Globo seeing benefit of mobile messaging
As flagged in its early August update, Greek IT, software and mobile email provider Globo recorded strong interim revenue and profitability growth, though cash flow was less impressive. The CitronGO! and SaaS offerings are now starting to prove their worth, after much R&D, with revenues from the former likely to ramp up strongly as the number of live implementations rises from 3 operators currently to at least 13 by year end. We spoke to the Globo management team this morning and Premium subscribers can read our full review in Newswire Plus.
