Infrastructure Services Quarterly Review - July 2011
The last three months has been another difficult period for the Infrastructure Services peer group. Although they have put in a respectable performance relative to the wider market, the average share price performance of listed infrastructure services companies has underperformed all of the other peer groups in the Megabuyte universe on a 12 month view and all but a couple on a 3 month view.
On trading, Datatec, 2e2, Phoenix IT Group and Computacenter have all updated on trading recently and effectively confirmed our view that conditions have indeed weakened as the year has progressed. Capital markets fundraising activity within infrastructure services also remains at very low levels but, despite the tougher trading environment, the private equity community certainly seems to be warming to this peer group as the Cloud trend develops; but are they buying what they think they are buying?
