As the government cuts announced in 2010 start to become a reality in 2011, suppliers of software and related services to the UK government are bracing themselves for this new era of austerity. However, many believe that this new phase presents as much opportunity as risk for well positioned vendors. In the Megabuyte Public Sector Software annual review, in addition to a review of share price performance, valuations and corporate activity in this part of the market over the last year, we will examine the balance or risk and opportunity presented to public sector software vendors as we enter this new era.

The second annual Public Sector Software CEO roundtable dinner, which is hosted by finncap, will bring together leading CEOs and investors in UK based public sector software companies to debate this topic. At the dinner, Megabuyte principal analyst Ian Spence will summarise the report findings. In doing so, Ian will look at the key areas of the UK public sector software market and draw conclusions about the outlook for each as government cuts start to bite.
